[1:35] Our Reviewer of the Week is Mcragle, and she said: "I started listening to this podcast around 34 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy. I wish I would've found this podcast my first pregnancy and maybe things would've been a little different. I was worried I wouldn't be able to hear all the important details I needed since I joined later in my pregnancy. But boy was I wrong! I ended up listening to the podcast and finished about 95% of the my essential birth course with my husband. I felt so much more empowered that my body could do this all on its own, with the help of the techniques give by Stephanie and Courtney and with the help of my amazing husband. I was able to have an amazing unmedicated birth I didn't think I was even capable of doing. It truly is an amazing podcast and I would recommend to anyone having a baby to listen! Even if you're like me and not experiencing your first birth. I also loved hearing their unbiased & differing opinions/options on things. They truly just want you to have all information to make the choice for you and your baby! Thanks Stephanie and Courtney for all your help."

[3:14] Our topic is about finding childcare for your infant or toddler. We got this question in our Facebook group.

[4:28] Choosing a proper provider is super important. It's also something we're probably going to go back and forth on to try to figure out the very best thing is for our baby.

[5:59] Why would you need childcare?

  • Going back to work
  • Time just throughout the week for yourself
  • Running errands
  • Working from home
  • Going to school

[7:02] Other options if you're uncomfortable with someone else providing childcare:

  • Change jobs
  • Work opposite hours of your partner
  • Lowering the amount of work hours
  • Try to work from home
  • Different job options (educator, Virtual Assistant, nanny, house cleaner, etc.)
  • Create a budget
  • Move to a smaller home
  • Cut down on expenses

"I think when we put our priorities in order, it helps us to realize what we need to focus on right now. If you want to be home with them, you will not regret doing what you have to do to be home with them."

[22:14] Types of childcare:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Swapping with friends
  • Paid childcare

[24:00] Daycare centers -  this can be a really convenient option for moms, and it ends up being potentially a little bit less because there are more children there and they don't need to charge individual rates. It might be a little bit more affordable for moms.

[27:28] In-home providers - if you're hiring somebody to come into your home or you're taking your child to somebody else's home, a lot of questions stay the same.

[29:47] You are a good mom right where you're at. The fact that we worry so much about these things is what tells us that we are doing the right thing.
